IP Protection & Confidentiality

Your designs and IP are treated with strict confidentiality — we are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before production, and all customer files are handled securely. For original designs we recommend a declaration of ownership; for licensed products, proof of IP authorization is required.

Flexible Production with MOQ From 500 Units

Whether you're validating a new product or scaling an established brand, our minimum order quantity starts from 500 units, making custom manufacturing more accessible while maintaining production efficiency and consistent quality.

We believe great manufacturing starts with clear communication. Our English-speaking project managers provide timely updates, respond quickly to your questions, and keep you informed throughout every stage of production. With one dedicated point of contact, working with us is simple, transparent, and efficient.

OEM & ODM

Two Ways to Work With Us

OEM

You bring the design

You already have production-ready files. We industrialize them — mold making, sampling, injection, painting and assembly, all built to your spec.

  • 3D files and turnaround drawings
  • Colors and materials already set
  • You own the IP
  • Fastest path to tooling

ODM

We help develop it

You have a character, a sketch, or just a brief. Our experienced design team sculpts it, engineers it for manufacturing, then takes it through production.

  • A sketch, character or brief
  • Sculpting and 3D modeling included
  • 2–3 revisions before sampling
  • IP ownership set by agreement

How It Works

The Process

  1. 2D Sketch — step 01 of the PopZao production process01

    2D Sketch

Send a sketch, a photo, or just a reference. Our designers turn it into a production-ready drawing.

  2. 3D Modeling — step 02 of the PopZao production process02

    3D Modeling

We build a full 3D model and share it for review, with two to three rounds of revisions included.

  3. 3D Printing — step 03 of the PopZao production process03

    3D Printing

A physical sample is printed and finished so you can approve the real thing before tooling starts.

  4. Real Toy — step 04 of the PopZao production process04

    Real Toy

Molds are cut and mass production begins, with in-line inspections at every stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. You do not need a finished 3D model to start working with PopZao.

We can start from a 2D illustration, character design, concept sketch, or even an AI-generated image, and help develop it into a production-ready product. Our team can handle the 3D modeling, prototyping, material selection, and manufacturing preparation for you.

To get started, please send us as much of the following as you have:

  • Your 2D artwork, sketches, or reference images
  • Front, side, and back views, if available
  • Preferred colors or Pantone references
  • Target product size
  • Your logo and other brand assets in vector format, if applicable
  • Any references for materials, finishes, textures, or packaging
  • Your estimated order quantity and target market

Don't worry if you don't have everything yet. A clear 2D concept is often enough for us to begin the initial evaluation.

Before we start 3D modeling, our team will first review your design from a manufacturability perspective. We may recommend adjustments to proportions, thickness, small details, materials, structure, or production methods to make sure the final design can be manufactured reliably without losing the character of your original artwork.

If you are unsure which material to use, we can also recommend the most suitable option—such as PVC, vinyl, silicone, resin, plush, or other materials—based on the desired look, feel, durability, quantity, and budget.

Our MOQ varies by product category, design complexity, and manufacturing process. For example, custom plush toys and collectible figures have different production requirements, so their minimum quantities may differ.

We provide tiered pricing based on your expected order quantity, so you can clearly compare the unit cost at different volumes. When requesting a quote, simply let us know the quantities, height, and most of the time the actual design will help a lot.

For products that require custom molds, such as PVC, vinyl, there is typically a one-time tooling or mold fee. As the order quantity increases, this cost is spread across more units, reducing its impact on the effective cost per piece.

If you have a target unit price, please also share your expected quantity. We will let you know the minimum order volume required to reach that target price, so you can quickly determine whether the project fits your budget.

Yes. We strongly recommend reviewing a physical sample or prototype before moving into mass production, especially for custom plush toys, collectible figures, and other highly customized products.

Sample costs vary depending on the product category, size, materials, craftsmanship, and design complexity. Once we review your design files and requirements, we will provide a clear sample quotation and estimated lead time before starting.

In most cases, the sample fee is paid upfront before sample development begins. Depending on the project and final production quantity, part or all of the sample fee may be credited toward your bulk order. We will confirm the applicable policy clearly in your quotation.

Typical sample lead times vary by product type, but most custom prototypes take approximately 2–3 weeks after the design and specifications are confirmed.

If you are developing a full collection, we can also produce one complete prototype set or selected character samples first, so you can review the quality, colors, materials, and overall execution before committing to mass production.

The total lead time depends on the product type, design complexity, order quantity, and shipping method. For a fully customized project, the process usually includes several stages:

  • 3D modeling / design development: approximately 10–14 days
  • Prototype / sample production: approximately 2–3 weeks
  • Mold development (if required): approximately 45 days
  • Mass production: approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on the product and quantity
  • Air freight: typically 5–10 days
  • Sea freight: typically 3–6 weeks, depending on the destination

If you have a specific launch, retail, event, or holiday deadline, let us know your required delivery date and destination country. We can work backwards from that date and tell you the latest recommended date to confirm your order, including time for sampling, revisions, production, and shipping.

For time-sensitive projects, we can also advise which production or shipping options may help shorten the overall timeline.
